Custom Shoji Design
Each Toro Lantern is expertly handcrafted using handmade Japanese washi paper, warm handcarved wood, custom-cut acrylic, and high-resolution ink. Every lantern is hand-sanded and finished to extremely tight specifications at our studio in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Interchangeable Panels
All Toro Lanterns feature removable panels that let you easily change the artwork whenever you want. We offer art panels with an array of designs, so you can create a one-of-a-kind lantern that you can change to create seasonal designs, match your décor, or switch themes to fit your mood.

From Vision to Reality :
The Toro Journey
Like many inventions, Toro Lanterns began when a group of artists could not find the product we wanted. We wanted a traditional shoji-style lantern that wasn’t just beautiful, but adaptable. Something we could customize. Something that could change with the seasons and reflect whatever inspired us in the moment. When nothing like that existed, we created our own. And the project grew. What began as a small idea turned into a handcrafted lantern ecosystem that blends tradition, art, and personalization into a single, meaningful design.
